Privacy notice — Groupmail Community
Groupmail Community is a public archive of newsletters published by independent authors using the Groupmail email platform. This notice explains what we collect when you read or share newsletters here. The Groupmail platform itself has its own privacy notice for sender accounts and subscribers — see groupmail.io/privacy.
What we collect
- Page views and basic request metadata — your IP address, user-agent, the URL requested, the time of the request, and the referring URL. Used for traffic analysis and abuse prevention. Retained for up to 30 days in raw form, then aggregated.
- Newsletter view counts — when a newsletter page loads we increment a per-post counter. The counter is anonymous; no personal identifier is attached.
- Cookies set by this site — only
gc_hs(a 30-day flag set when you arrive from an email link, used to hide subscription prompts you don't need). No advertising, tracking, or fingerprinting cookies.
What we don't do here
- No advertising or third-party ad tracking.
- No fingerprinting, behavioural profiling, or cross-site tracking.
- No email collection on archive or reading pages.
Subscribing to a newsletter
If you submit your email address through a publisher's subscribe form, that submission is handled by the Groupmail platform — not by this archive. The publisher becomes the controller of your subscription data; Groupmail is the processor. See groupmail.io/privacy and the publisher's own contact details (shown on every newsletter page) for details and to exercise your rights.
Sharing
When you use the Share button to send a newsletter to another platform (X, Facebook, LinkedIn, email, copy-link, native share sheet), we don't mediate that share — your browser opens the destination directly. Those services have their own privacy notices.
Newsletter content
Each newsletter is published by an independent author and reflects their own choices about what to write and how to attribute. If you believe a published newsletter contains content that shouldn't be on the archive (copyright, harassment, illegal content, malware, or any other concern), please use the Report content page.
Children
Groupmail Community is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top.
